Today, the Warnow Tunnel reached an impressive milestone. Shortly after 10:00 a.m., the 90 millionth vehicle since its opening in 2003 was counted.
Till Meyn and Christoph Schulze were in this vehicle. The young men from Michaelshof in Rostock-Gehlsdorf were surprised and congratulated by a welcome committee from Warnowquerung GmbH & Co. KG as they drove through. The tunnel’s managing director, Ms. Yvonne Osterkamp, and the mascot Otter Oskar presented them with numerous wonderful gifts. The gentlemen were delighted to receive a large bouquet of flowers with a small otter soft toy, a fuel voucher worth €90.00, two tickets for Rostock Zoo, a Warnow Tunnel induction charging pad, and other fine gifts.
Mr. Schulze was using the tunnel for work at the time, but also drives through it privately. He has a prepaid tunnel card, which he plans to switch to direct debit shortly. “The application is already at home,” he said, and thanked the customer center for the good advice. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all users that cash top-ups for tunnel cards will only be possible until September 30, 2025. We recommend switching over soon, following the example of our 90 millionth driver. You can easily switch over on our website.
The good thing about the Warnow Tunnel is that you always reach your destination quickly, Mr. Schulze added in conclusion. On this note, we would like to thank Till Meyn and Christoph Schulze for their regular use of the tunnel, as well as all users for their trust, and wish them a safe and pleasant journey at all times.
