The Warnowtunnel would like to inform all tunnel drivers that a major construction measure will take place in the north tube from 14.11.2022 to 25.11.2022.
As part of a modernisation of the tunnel’s technical equipment, the jet fans will be replaced. These new, more powerful models will replace those installed since the Warnowtunnel was commissioned and will be responsible for ventilation and smoke extraction in case of a fire. The project, which has been planned since 2021, entered its final phase in calendar week 44, when a factory acceptance test of the new fans took place. The replacement of the fans in the south tube will take place in 2023.
During the two-week construction work, the north tunnel tube will be closed and traffic from both directions will be routed through the south tube at reduced speed.
