At exactly the right moment, Ms Neugebauer drove her vehicle into the correct lane at the Warnow Tunnel toll station today. What she did not know shortly before 1:30 p.m. was that she would be the next millionth user.
Once again, everything fell into place. The weather was perfect as the welcoming committee took up their positions to greet our lucky guest of honour. Ms Neugebauer safely pulled her car over to the side of the road, past our Oscard conversion office. As she got out, she was immediately greeted by our mascot, Otter Oscar, who presented her with a large, beautiful bouquet of flowers. Mr Torsten Raths, managing director of the tunnel, was the first to congratulate her and presented her with a gift bag containing a €91.00 fuel voucher, a Lion’s Club Warnemünde advent calendar, a Warnow Tunnel power bank, a ten-trip ticket for ice skating at the Rostock ice rink and a few other smaller gifts.
Ms Neugebauer expressed her heartfelt thanks. ‘What a surprise after work.’ She was on her way from her job at the fishing port to pick up her daughter from school and then drive home to Broderstorf. She uses the tunnel every day, she said. ‘It’s better than city traffic.’ We would like to thank Ms Neugebauer very much for her regular use of the tunnel and wish her a safe journey at all times.
We would like to draw your attention once again to the changeover of the Oscard tunnel card. Since 1 October 2025, it is no longer possible to top up the cards with cash or EC card payments at the cash desks. However, you can still use the option of topping up your Oscard yourself via PayPal or credit card payment on our website.
